Cinco de Mayo...

This holiday is an interesting phenomenon in the US, since many celebrating it have nothing to do with Mexico or its history.  I'm included on this list!  Tonight I will provide the tequila for a little celebration at one of my dearest friend's house.  We will eat tacos and other Mexican fare to celebrate the return of a dear friend who is moving back to Miami from Detroit after a couple of year's absence.

Lately I've been celebrating a lot of birthdays with new, young friends.  I love the spirit of it!  We just get together and have a great time.  It almost feels like the spontaneous days of college for me again.  In this mix, I have discovered many new types of relationships with many people on an individual level.  One in particular is deeply spiritually rooted and filled with a deliciousness I can hardly believe.  I'm really in awe of what I am experiencing these days.  It is so beautiful and beyond words.

Right now, I'm writing this while listening to Charles Mingus play the sweetest jazz and I know I'll remember how lovely this moment is.  It is one of the most amazing times of my life due to how authentic and real it is.  Yes, it is worthy of celebrating!
