On a rainy Tuesday night, I happened upon an unexpected
treat. I stumbled into OlaRestaurant
at the Sanctuary Hotel just footsteps between the Miami BeachConvention Center
and Collins
Avenue on James
Street. It
offered a serene, yet trendy freshness with the restaurant's predominantly
white furniture.
I was on my own that night,
so I sat the bar where Elizabeth
both tended my drink and meal requests. She treated me to her favorite of
the bar's Mojito specialties made with dark rum. It was simply delicious.
On the Nuevo Latino menu,
renown and award winning chef Doug Rodriguez offers a selection of churrasco,
roasted pork and his famous ceviche which makes my mouth water just
thinking about it. However, I decided to go for the "Tuna Causa," which
is spiced and seared then served with blue mashed potatoes, white bean puree
and conch escabeche. ($34) What a delight!
