Opa Tavern is a wonderful place to just
hang out after a stressful day/week, celebrate a birthday or just go revive
your tired soul after a long travel day! It is filled with young and old
fun loving folks dancing on tabletops along with an occasional toddler soon to
be party animal. The belly dancers are playful with the crowd enticing
all for the fun and tips!! An occasional jolly server will also
do a shot with you or jump up on a table to shake his/her groove
thing. It is just a happy place to visit!
However, an added plus is the amazing
food!! I’d be happy with the silliness alone, but let me share some of my
favorite things to munch on: The Dolmadakia is a grape leaves appetizer
and a Greek cuisine must, although my favorite is the spinach pie, Spanakopita.
You will see the fresh prawns as you walk in and wonder if they are lobsters
they are so huge!! Try them, you won’t be disappointed!! As an
entrée, any skewer, grilled chicken, pork or lamb will simply melt in your
mouth. If you care for something heavier, try the Moussaka. Then
for dessert, nothing beats the Baklava, but everything is freshly made and
delicious!
At the bar or your table, make sure the
martinis and ouzo shots keep coming!! There is a wide selection of
martinis including amazing Cosmos and Apple-tinis, but try the Opa creations as
well. After a few ouzo shots, you will be dancing the calories away and
forgetting any troubles you might have had before you got there! As my
favorite server Niko says, "Zorba shots for ladies, Ouzo shots for
men!" OPA!!
