The Big Pink is a
neighborhood favorite hangout where you can run into sports, TV and movie stars
eating excellent diner food. The atmosphere is relaxed and family
friendly. I go there at any time of day or night to have a good meal or
take out for my home when I have unexpected guests.
The appetizers are terrific
and a good choice for when you don't want a huge meal. I recommend the
steak quesadilla or the Panko crusted chicken tenders. If you are
entertaining and want a crowd pleaser, get the hot spinach and cheese
dip. The chili and macaroni and cheese are also excellent.
Any burger is fabulous, I
love the goat cheese pizza with sundried tomatoes and also the Thai steak wrap
is phenomenal. My favorite salad is the southwestern chicken salad, but
they are all good and abundant enough to share.
In all the years I've gone to
the Big Pink, I've never tried an entree. However, you can eat breakfast
at any time. I like the Brie omelet and the waffles best. The steak
and eggs are great for a hangover, but the portion is too big for only one
person.
All the deserts are fabulous,
but my favorite is the brownie tower with ice cream. The shakes are
enough as a desert, since they are made with ice cream. There is also a
full bar and wonderful Pina Coladas with rumrunners.
You can't go wrong at this place unless it's too crowded.
