There is always a trend, a style, a flavor of choice among the crowd implying chic, modern or actualized. In my youth, I enjoyed it and added my own twist to the trends adapting them to my own style. Now I try to keep to what is dignified and age appropriate. My sense of youthfulness and fun hasn't left me, but I hope not to fall into the ridiculousness and tasteless attempts of middle aged women trying to be forever young. Aging with grace means a separation from trendy. Young people look at me with admiration to learn what is truly classic and stylish. They admire the experience I have in knowing what works and still having an edge.
